Scotland lose Hines

Scotland have been forced to drop Nathan Hines from the team to face Australia following legal discussions.

The Perpignan lock was cited by Stade Francais after allegedly kicking Canadian back-row forward Mike James in the face during a game on November 4. A French disciplinary panel ruled that the 29-year-old was guilty of an act of foul play and suspended him until December 11.

An appeal against the ban was lodged and Hines looked set to feature against the Wallabies but, following discussions involving the Scottish Rugby Union, the International Rugby Board and the League National de Rugby, Hines will now not play. Glasgow Warriors captain Alastair Kellock will take his place in the second row.

James Hamilton of Leicester Tigers has been called up to the bench.
