Scots deny Murrayfield rumours

The Scottish Rugby Union denied last night that it is about to drop the name Murrayfield from its stadium as one way of reducing its £10million overdraft.

Commercial and marketing director Phil Anderton said: 'Murrayfield has been the home of Scottish rugby since 1925.

'If a company were to offer us a significant sum of money to have an association with Murrayfield we would consider it as a means of re-investing money in Scottish rugby. But Murrayfield will not be dropped.'
