A further three matches fell victim to the Scottish referees' dispute on Friday after the Polish football association pulled out of a deal to replace striking officials.

The Irn-Bru First Division contest between Morton and Falkirk was quickly postponed, followed by Scottish Cup third-round replays between Threave Rovers and Stenhousemuir, plus Annan and Brechin.

The weekend's six Scottish Premier League fixtures are still scheduled to take place along with the Scottish Cup third round replay between Beith and Airdrie United and the ALBA Challenge Cup final involving Ross County and Queen of the South.

The Scottish Football Association have secured the services of officials from Portugal, Malta, Luxembourg and Israel to cover the remaining games.

And on Friday afternoon they announced that the experienced Alain Hamer, of Luxembourg, would referee both Old Firm teams this weekend.

Hamer, who sent off Gary Caldwell during Scotland's 4-0 World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway last year, will take charge of Celtic's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash against Inverness on Saturday. He and his two assistants from Luxembourg will then cover Rangers' trip to Dundee United on Sunday.

Israel's Meir Levy will referee Hamilton's home game against St Mirren along with two assistants from his country while another three-man Israeli team, led by Eli Hacmon, will officiate in Kilmarnock's clash against Aberdeen.

A Portuguese team led by Cosme Machado will take charge of Hibernian's Easter Road meeting with St Johnstone.

The same four officials will be at Fir Park to cover Motherwell against Hearts 24 hours later, with Machado acting as fourth official and Joao Ferreira taking the whistle.

Malta's Christian Lautier will take charge of the Scottish Cup replay between Beith Juniors and Airdrie before moving to the touchline as Marco Borg leads the Maltese team for the ALBA Challenge Cup final between Queen of the South and Ross County on Sunday.
