Scruton blow for Bulls

12 April 2012

Bradford will be without prop Nick Scruton for up to 10 weeks due to a knee injury.

The 25-year-old suffered a grade three medial ligament strain in the Bulls' Engage Super League loss to Warrington 11 days ago.

The lay-off means Scruton may not feature again before the end of the regular Super League season.

Coach Steve McNamara said: "It's the worst-case scenario for that type of injury and really unfortunate for Nick, who has been outstanding for us since his arrival at the club.

"Knowing Nick he will work as hard as he possibly can and he will receive the best treatment to make sure he gets back onto the field before the end of the season."

Scruton has been an ever-present since joining the Bulls from Leeds at the start of last season, making 49 consecutive appearances.

It is the latest blow for Bradford following the loss of playmaker Matt Orford for the rest of the season.
