Sehwag sets new ODI mark

Virender Sehwag

Virender Sehwag made the highest individual score in one-day internationals as he reached 201 in India's match with West Indies in Indore on Thursday.

The opener passed team-mate Sachin Tendulkar's 200 not out against South Africa in February last year as he put the Windies bowling to the sword.

The 33-year-old, who was dropped on 170, passed the mark with his 23rd four of the match with India three wickets down and was still at the crease with more than six overs to go.

He had also hammered six sixes in his magnificent 140-ball knock.

Sehwag's previous ODI best was 175 against Bangladesh in Dhaka in February.

The double century also took Sehwag past the 8000-run mark in ODIs.
