Senegal facing injury worries

13 April 2012

Senegal have injury worries for Saturday's quarter-final against Turkey in Osaka.

Coach Bruno Metsu today rested rightback Ferdinand Coly, who has a swollen right knee, captain Aliou Cisse, (strained calf muscle) and defender Pape Malick Diop (twisted ankle).

Metsu, decided to rest the trio as a precaution, said: "It will be tough. Turkey have excellent players who are all at great European clubs."

Senegal goalkeeper Tony Sylva added: "We have always been outsiders and that's how we want to remain. We don't consider ourselves favourites. We aren't going to change. Above all, we respect Turkey."
