Serena and Lindsay fit for Fed Cup

14 April 2012

Serena Williams and Lindsay Davenport are getting over injuries and eager to play for the United States in the Fed Cup against Belgium at Delray Beach this weekend.

Williams is recovering from a sprained left ankle but said today: "I'm feeling a little bit better. I'm going to make every effort to be in the competition."

Davenport, nursing a hip injury, said: "I'm fine now. There's no problem whatsoever."

Former No1s Justine Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters, who recently returned from injuries, have chosen not to play for Belgium.
