Seve rapped for losing temper

13 April 2012

Seve Ballesteros has been reprimanded today following the opening round of the Spanish Open in Valencia.

The 44-year-old Spaniard lashed out with a club during his first-round four-over-par 76 when only able to hack out of plant following a wayward tee-shot.

That left him 12 shots behind overnight leader Andrew Oldcorn, who was joined at the top this morning by two Swedes.

Robert Karlsson posted his second successive 68 and Jarmo Sandelin carded a six-under-par 66 to join Oldcorn on eight under. Fellow Scot Andrew Coltart was just a further shot off the pace.

He added a four-under 68 to his opening 69 to share seven-under with Sweden's Carl Pettersson.

Darren Clarke is five under, with Ryder Cup teammate Miguel Angel Jimenez four under par.
