Sex in village triggers scare

David Smith13 April 2012

The Welsh boxing team face expulsion from the Commonwealth Games village in Manchester after one of their fighters smuggled his girlfriend into the complex to stay the night.

Heavyweight Lee Milsjen ignored the old adage about fighters refraining from female company in the days before a big bout and caused a security alert.

Milsjen broke strict rules on Sunday when he allowed his girlfriend to stay overnight in the village.

Athletes are allowed visitors but there is a curfew of 9pm when non-team members are required to leave.

When Milsjen's girlfriend failed to return her security pass the police were informed and conducted an allnight search for her.

Roy Chambers, the Wales team manager, said: "They operate a one-strike policy and then you're out.

"I was told if it happens again the whole Welsh boxing team can find themselves living outside the village."

Two days after his secret liaison, Milsjen was beaten in the quarter finals by Andrew Young, of Scotland.
