Shah completes IPL switch

Owais Shah
12 April 2012

England batsman Owais Shah will switch franchises to the Kolkata Knight Riders for the third Indian Premier League competition.

Shah was an unused member of the Delhi Daredevils squad for last year's event but did later feature for the team in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

Shah's move was one of only three to take place in the transfer window created to allow trading between teams prior to the next IPL auction, which takes place on January 19.

Middlesex player Shah, signed by Daredevils for £185,000 at auction last year, moves to the Knight Riders along with Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary.

Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques, who played for New South Wales in the Champions League, moves in the opposite direction from Kolkata to Delhi.

A total of 96 players have registered for the 2010 IPL auction including Usman Afzaal, Tim Bresnan, James Foster, Anthony McGrath, Eoin Morgan, Monty Panesar, Adil Rashid and Jonathan Trott.

Players were due to be notified on Tuesday if they have been selected for inclusion in the auction after a meeting of the eight franchises.
