Shevchenko fires Milan towards final

14 April 2012

Danish striker Jon Dahl Tomasson believes AC Milan will line up in next month's European Cup Final after scoring the second goal in a 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven.

Andriy Shevchenko put the Serie A leaders in front just before the break in the semifinal first leg at the San Siro.

PSV put Milan under the cosh in the second half, creating no less than 15 attempts on goal, but could not find an equaliser and were punished when Tomasson scored in the final minute to give Milan a twogoal cushion to take into the second leg in Holland.

Tomasson, on as a substitute, reacted first when a shot from Kaka was deflected into his path.

He said: "It's a great result for the next game. We are 2-0 up and normally that should get us to the final.

"PSV played an excellent game, they were better than us. Both teams had a lot of opportunities and tactically we were not playing well."
