Speed should stay in game - Allardyce

12 April 2012

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce claims it would be shame if Gary Speed was lost to the game when he retires from playing.

The 37-year-old Welsh midfielder is toying with the idea of becoming a coach. Speed celebrated a record 500th Premier League appearance by helping Bolton defeat West Ham at the weekend.

He added: "Gary is experienced and loves the game. I would encourage him to learn all he can."
