American born Tiffany Porter is one of the athletes at the centre of the 'plastic Brits' and is representing Team GB in the 100m hurdles. Here are her vital statistics.

1. Was born in America to a Nigerian father and a British mother.

2. She represented the USA at junior level.

3. She failed to qualify for the American team for Beijing 2008 so changed allegiance to Great Britain in 2010 as she holds a joint passport.

4. She won silver for the USA at the inaugural NACAC Championships

5. There was controversy when she switched allegiance and broke Angie Thorp’s 15-year-old 100m hurdle record as Thorp was unhappy that an American had beaten it.

6. Jessica Ennis broke her hurdles record during her heptathlon at in which she won gold.

7. Maintains that she is American, British and Nigerian all at the same time and does not ‘conform to one box’.

8. Classifies herself on Twitter as ‘running professionally for Adidas.’

9. Married to fellow hurdler Jeff Porter.

10. Nearly missed out on London 2012 after the recurrence of an injury at the Crystal Palace Grand Prix prior to the games.
