Team GB's gold medal-winning hockey team reveal their superstitions after Rio glory

On Friday Great Britain’s women won their first ever Olympic title and the ecstasy of their gold medal victory hadn’t worn off by the time they sat down with Reggie Yates on the DFS sofa.

Hollie Webb and goalkeeper Maddie Hinch were the heroes as Britain followed their bronze four years ago with gold in Rio, winning a penalty shootout after the gold medal match with the Netherlands had ended 3-3 in normal time.

Britain’s victory ended an eight-year reign as Olympic champions for the Dutch and gave captain Kate Richardson-Walsh the perfect send-off in her final international match.

Just a few days later the glory continued for the 36-year-old, who was named Team GB’s flag bearer for the closing ceremony at the Maracana.

Amid the jubilation of their gold medal victory the 16 gold medallists found the time to join Yates and give an insight into their celebrations in Rio.
