It promises to be another action-packed day in Tokyo on Wednesday.

Here’s all you need to know about Day 12 at the Games...

Day 12 highlights

Sky Brown only turned 13 last month but could be one of the stories of these Games.

As skateboarding makes its Olympic bow, Brown looks likely to be its star attraction.

Born in Japan and the youngest member of Team GB in Tokyo, she is a world bronze medallist in her event and a medal contender. Don’t miss her in action early on Wednesday.

The heptathlon head-to-head between British world champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Belgium's Olympic champion Nafi Thiam begins with the 100m hurdles.

Johnson-Thompson has been battling an Achilles injury this season and has only competed twice in 2021, so all eyes will be on how she is shaping up. The first day of the heptathlon also features the high jump, shot put and 200m.

Alice Dearing will make history as the first black female swimmer to compete for GB at an Olympics when she takes part in the women's 10km open water final.

Jason Kenny became the most successful British Olympian on Tuesday when he won a fifth Olympic medal with a silver in track cycling's team sprint final, and he begins his quest to defend the men's sprint title he won at Rio 2016.

Ben Maher is a contender for another showjumping medal in the individual event, while Nick Miller competes in the men’s hammer final and Lizzie Bird goes in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase.

Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre will be hoping to bring home another sailing gold in the women’s 470 silver.

Elsewhere, the men’s 200m final promises to be exciting as Canadian Andre de Grasse bids to take over the mantle from retired triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt. Americans Kenny Bednarek, Erriyon Knighton and world champion Noah Lyles are all major threats.

The men’s 800m final looks wide open after American world champion Donavan Brazier unexpectedly failed to qualify, while the women's golf tournament gets underway.
