George Flood7 August 2021

The Tokyo Olympics conclude with the final day of competition on Sunday before a closing ceremony and the passing of the torch on to Paris 2024.

Team GB head into Day 16 sitting fifth in the medal table and level on golds (20) with the Russian Olympic Committee - who boast 69 total medals to GB’s 63 - after success for the likes of boxer Galal Yafai and pentathlete Joe Choong so far this weekend.

There was also cycling silver in the men’s madison for Matt Walls and Ethan Hayter, plus bronze for Tom Daley in the men’s 10m platform diving final to go along with his synchro gold.

Josh Kerr also claimed bronze in the men’s 1500m behind Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Timothy Cheruiyot.

There are more medal chances coming for Britain on Sunday as they hope to fight back and seal fourth spot in the medal table behind China, the USA and hosts Japan.
