Sri Lanka Cricket have confirmed their current administration has been dissolved with an interim committee due to be named later today.

The outgoing board, led by former national team player Somachandra de Silva, were sacked by the country's sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage amid reports of mis-management.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) racked up large debts after co-hosting the World Cup alongside India and Bangladesh earlier this year.

SLC media manager Brian Thomas told Press Association Sport: "The board has been dissolved, that is a fact.

"The government have not told us the reason why but this particular interim committee has served its two years.

"There will be another interim committee appointed this evening."
