Star trek: family Beckham off to a new Galaxy

13 April 2012

David Beckham arrives to begin his new career with Los Angeles Galaxy today, intent on fulfilling his mission to bring 'soccer' to the masses across the pond.

Beckham will be unveiled to season ticket holders, whose numbers have tripled since his decision to quit Madrid for LA, and corporate sponsors at a welcoming party at Galaxy's 27,000-seater stadium.

The midfield star is on course to bank a projected £128million across the five years of his U.S. deal and has already helped sell 250,000 replica shirts.

He is scheduled to start with Galaxy against Chelsea in a friendly a week on Saturday.
