Stars swamps Champion rivals

Sea The Stars was at his imperious best as he brushed aside the challenge of Ballydoyle aces Fame And Glory and Mastercraftsman to land the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

It was a thrilling contest as the main protagonists filled the first three places soon after entering the straight, where Mastercraftsman went for home.

Fame And Glory soon took over, but Mick Kinane unleashed a withering run from the favourite and Sea The Stars powered into the lead to score decisively.
