Steve McClaren at Euro 2008

13 April 2012

England will not be at Euro 2008 but their failed former manager Steve McClaren will be after he was today named in the BBC Radio 5 Live commentary team for the tournament.

McClaren was sacked last November after Croatia ended England's bid to qualify for the finals. He will get a close look at Slaven Bilic's side again as his first assignment is the 8 June game between Croatia and co-hosts Austria.

The Radio 5 Live team includes Graham Taylor, the last England coach before McClaren not to qualify for a major tournament, the 1994 World Cup.
