Stewart talks with investigators

13 April 2012

Alec Stewart today assured International Cricket Council anti-corruption chief Sir Paul Condon of his full co-operation over match-fixing allegations.

The former England skipper was named in an Indian government report on match-fixing but denied claims he took money in exchange for information from a bookmaker.

The Surrey player today met with Sir Paul and other members of the Anti-Corruption Unit.

An ICC statement said: "Mr Stewart confirmed he is fully prepared to co-operate with the ACU's investigations.

"If necessary a further meeting, involving more detailed discussions, will take place at some point in the future.

"Neither the Anti-Corruption Unit nor Mr Stewart will be making any further media or public comment on this matter."
