Strauss opts to bat

England again selected their likely Test XI to face South Australia in their second Ashes warm-up match in Adelaide.

This match may yet present the final chance for the bowling attack to fine-tune their preparations, in competitive action, before the first Test in Brisbane.

England have been considering for some time the option of sending their Test attack straight to Queensland, rather than taking them to Hobart for the last of three warm-up fixtures against Australia A next week.

The bowlers discovered, however, they will have to wait for their chance to impress - after England's six-wicket success in Perth - after Andrew Strauss chose to bat first on a sunny morning.
