Stuart banned after beamers

13 April 2012

West Indies' hopes of winning the Second Test against Sri Lanka in Kandy got off to a bizzare start on the first day today when three bowlers had to be used to complete one over.

Meryvn Dillon left the field with abdominal pains during his second over.

Colin Stuart took over but was withdrawn from the attack by the umpires after just three deliveries because he bowled two beamers.

Chris Gayle then had to be brought on to complete the 14-minute over.

But the West Indies hit back to take five wickets for 193 before rain forced play to be abandoned for the day.
