Super Smith saves Brentford

Brentford had to rely on goalkeeper Paul Smith to edge them past Barnet on penalties in the LDV Vans Trophy last night.

Wally Downes's experimental side came back from 2-0 down against the Conference team, thanks to goals from Jay Tabb, Stephen Hunt and, in extra time, Tabb once more.

But Liam Hatch levelled the tie at 3-3 and it needed Smith to save Bai Mass's kick in the shoot-out to earn a 3-1 win.
