Sven gets Grip on City

Sven Goran Eriksson has enlisted the help of his former England assistant Tord Grip for when he takes over as Manchester City boss.

Eriksson is expected to be officially unveiled as City's new manager on Wednesday or Thursday, a move that will go through once Thai politician Thaksin Shinawatra completes his takeover of the club.

And it is understood the Swede will appoint Grip in a senior scouting capacity.

City's players return to training tomorrow and will undergo a week of fitness work before Eriksson begins to plan for the new season.
