Taylor praise for Pennant

England Under-21 coach Peter Taylor hailed winger Jermaine Pennant after he tore Ukraine apart to help ease his side to a 3-1 victory at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium.

Taylor, whose European Championship qualifying campaign gets underway in Austria next month, said: "I thought he was outstanding." Carlton Cole scored twice and the other goal came from Darren Bent.

Meanwhile, Spurs were today continuing their quest to land Liverpool's Steve Finnan for £2million, although the right-back is also wanted by Blackburn.
