Taylor will hold Foxes inquiry

13 April 2012

Leicester manager Peter Taylor has promised to hold an inquiry with his players into the 2-1 defeat by Middlesbrough before they play Fulham at Filbert Street on Saturday.

Leicester were leading Middlesbrough 1-0 thanks to a first-half Matthew Jones goal, but with five minutes remaining, Paul Ince equalised and Jonathan Greening struck the winner with only two minutes of normal time left at Filbert Street.

That left Taylor ? who was said to be one defeat from the sack just 10 days ago before securing four points from the preceding two games ? immensely frustrated.

?That was not good enough for these players as they?re a lot better,? said Taylor, who must hope Muzzy Izzet recovers from a calf strain and Jones from a head wound before Fulham?s visit.

Taylor added: ?At the start of the second-half, a few people lost a bit of confidence as they gave the ball away and it went on from there. I can?t understand why. We will talk about a few things as the second-half wasn?t acceptable. There were a few very poor performances.

?The quicker we get these points out of the way and start agreeing where we went wrong, the better we can prepare for Saturday?s game.?

Boro manager Steve McClaren said the team were finally getting their ?just rewards? after climbing into 11th place. He said: ?I?d always maintained that the players? attitude was first-class and there is real talent in the squad.?
