Teddy's tough choice

Teddy Sheringham confirmed today that he has received several offers from other clubs and refused to rule out quitting Tottenham in the summer.

The Spurs captain's contract runs out at the end of the season and the club are likely to offer him a reduced wage deal unless the team qualify for the UEFA Cup.

Only 24 hours earlier, winger Matthew Etherington revealed that he is stalling on a new two-year deal.

Sheringham, the club's top scorer with 11 goals this season, maintained that Tottenham can still qualify for the UEFA Cup, but said: "It's out of my hands. Spurs have told me they will talk at the end of the season and any offer depends on finances and whether we get into Europe.

"There is nothing I can do until then. I've had offers from other clubs and they'll be considered along with everything else."

Spurs are adamant they will continue to slash the wage bill with a summer clear-out.
