British No.1 Kyle Edmund has been added to the line-up for Queen’s Club this summer, along with defending champion Feliciano Lopez.

In Andy Murray’s absence after hip surgery, Edmund has usurped the Scot as Britain’s top-ranked player.

And the 23-year-old could yet go head to head with Murray at the newly-named Fever-Tree Championships from June 18-24.

“Competing in front of British tennis fans at home is always a thrill and I would love to do well at Queen’s Club,” said the Australian Open semi-finalist. Edmund has been given a bye into the second round of this week’s Miami Open but is still looking for his first win on the ATP Tour since his Melbourne run.

Meanwhile, Johanna Konta will start the defence of her Miami Open title tomorrow against Kirsten Flipkens in a tournament awash with Brits.

The trio of Cameron Norrie, Katie Boulter and Liam Broady have all qualified for the main draw, while there was an early setback when Heather Watson lost her first-round match against Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia — her sixth straight loss.
