Greg Rusedski and Mark Petchey put their differences behind them today as they joined forces to beat Jonas Bjorkman and Richard Krajicek 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 in the senior gentlemen's invitational doubles.
The two former British Davis Cup players had a fiery debate on Radio 5 Live on Sunday, with LTA ambassador Rusedski defending the organisation against Petchey's claims.
Today they were both on the winning side as they defeated two former Wimbledon champions. Krajicek won the singles title, while Bjorkman is one of the most successful slam-winning doubles players in the sport.
Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal was officially left off Spain's team for the Davis Cup quarter-finals due to the knee problems that forced him to miss Wimbledon.
Nadal, who also missed last year's final over Argentina, has not played a tour match since losing in the fourth round at the French Open and there will be real concerns about his ability to get fit in time to launch a bid for a first US Open title, given the tournament is played on unforgiving hard courts.
