After becoming the first man to win Wimbledon eight times, there was only ever going to be one way Roger Federer would celebrate his landmark victory: with a big party.

The Swiss third seed took just one hour and 41 minutes to beat Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 on Sunday to extend his record to 19 Grand Slam titles - and, at the age of 35, become the oldest man to win Wimbledon.

After making history in SW19, Federer joined women's champion Garbine Muguruza at a glitzy Champions Dinner at the Guildhall in London where he celebrated his historic achievement in style.

"My head is ringing. I don't know what I did last night but I drank too many different types of drinks," he said.
