Terry in squad as four return for Chelsea

Injured: Didier Drogba

Injury-hit Chelsea have received a boost after John Terry, Jose Bosingwa, Alex and Deco were passed fit to face Middlesbrough tomorrow.

England skipper Terry (back) and Portugal's Bosingwa (knee) missed World Cup qualifiers, while Alex and Deco have been absent the past few weeks with a buttock strain and a knee problem.
However, Petr Cech (thigh), Ashley Cole (hamstring) and Michael Ballack (calf), who were all injured on international duty, have been ruled out of the game and join Ricardo Carvalho, Didier Drogba and Michael Essien on the caualty list.

Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will not use a lack of options as an excuse if Chelsea drop any points at the Riverside Stadium. He said: "I won't consider a draw a good result despite the injuries — I want to win. I'm not annoyed about it, I'm happy. It is a test for me that I am a good coach and I need to improve.
"I have to put other players into the team and I need to get the best out of them. This is good for my work."

While Scolari has Terry available again, Liverpool are set to be without injured Fernando Torres when they visit Stamford Bridge a week on Sunday. The striker strained his hamstring playing for Spain on Wednesday and that led to Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez calling for a reduction of qualifying games for international tournaments.

But Scolari, a former manager of Brazil and Portugal, disagrees and said: "It is not only one club that lose players while on international duty. One time we can lose two or three, the next time it is Liverpool and another it will be Manchester United. This is the life of a coach. There is a schedule and we must understand this."
