That's it, Curbishley told

Charlton chairman Richard Murray says the club is unlikely to spend much more money on transfers this summer after signing Gary Rowett from Leicester for an appearance-related fee of up to £3.5million.

The deal was completed after Saturday's 0-0 draw at Manchester United and manager Alan Curbishley will now have to concentrate on recruiting out-of-contract players.

Rowett, 28, can play in central defence or at fullback and was signed after Jorge Costa, who was on loan from Porto, decided he did not want a permanent move to the Premiership.

Charlton, who finished in 14th place, have spent a lot of money on The Valley in the last year. The fee from the sale of defender Andy Todd, which is likely to be close to £1m with Blackburn and Portsmouth interested, may help fund other transfers but Murray does not expect to have to sell any other first-team players.

"We will be taking a look at some out-of-contract players and will have to wheel and deal a bit," Murray said.
