The £30million fee Leeds have agreed with Manchester United for Rio Ferdinand will not only make him the most expensive player in British histroy, it also means his is the sixth most lucrative transfer in the footballing world.

8 - £28.1million, Juan Sebastian Veron, Lazio to Manchester United

9 - £28million, Rui Costa, Fiorentina to AC Milan
