Thomas is fired up for National battle

Geraint Thomas is determined to retain his British National Champion's jersey in Northumberland on Sunday.

The 25-year-old led a Team Sky podium clean sweep last year and is one of nine riders from the squad taking part, six days before the Tour de France begins.

He said: "Wearing that jersey has been amazing this last year and I'm won't give it up without a fight. It's going to be every man for himself."
