Three changes for Springboks

12 April 2012

South Africa coach Peter de Villiers has made three changes to his starting line-up for the second Tri-Nations Test against New Zealand in Dunedin on Saturday.

Veteran Percy Montgomery returns at full-back with Conrad Jantjes dropping to the bench, while JP Pietersen will play on the right wing ahead of Odwa Ndungane, who drops out of the 22 altogether.

In the pack, there is only the one enforced change at hooker where, as expected, Bismarck du Plessis replaces injured captain John Smit.

Schalk Brits, who only arrived in Wellington at the start of the week as Smit's replacement, will start on the bench.

The only other change sees Ruan Pienaar replace Bolla Conradie in the reserves, while lock Victor Matfield will captain the world champions in Smit's absence.
