Tigana and Fulham row continues

Evening Standard13 April 2012

Round Two of the potentially marathon legal fight between Fulham and Jean Tigana started this week. The club and their former manager have been in dispute since he was sacked in April 2003.

Fulham want to appeal against a ruling that they have to pay £455,000 in wages and bonuses for the two months which were left on Tigana's contract. The order concluded a bitter tribunal hearing and the club will find out today if their objections are enough to warrant a full appeal.

Even if the judge decides they cannot pursue the case there is plenty more legal argument to come with the two sides expected to end up in the High Court this autumn. Both have filed writs against each other with the former manager suing for £2.1million in bonus shares and the club claiming he let them overpay on player transfers.
