Tiger Woods hires new caddie

Fresh role: Joe LeCava will now work with Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods today appointed Joe LaCava as his caddie.

LaCava had been the long-term bagman for Fred Couples but the pair split in the summer after the golfer reduced his playing schedule.

The former world No1, who has not won a title in almost two years, has been without a caddie since severing ties with Steve Williams in July.

"Joe is an outstanding caddie, and I have known him for many years," said Woods. "I've seen the great job he did for Freddie. I'm anxious for us to be working together."

Meanwhile, Bill Haas won £7.1million as he clinched the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup after beating Hunter Mahan in a play-off.

The Americans finished their rounds in Atlanta on eight under but Haas won at the third extra hole as Mahan made bogey. England's Luke Donald was third on seven under.
