Tim to concentrate on Olympics

Tim Henman has opted not to defend his Washington title in a bid to boost his chances at the Athens Olympic Games next month.

Henman is enjoying a week's break with wife Lucy and daughter Rosie before preparing for the Tennis Masters event in Toronto which starts next Monday.

Henman has not been back on court since his Wimbledon quarter-final defeat by Mario Ancic.

The British No1 said: "Although I haven't been hitting any tennis balls, I've still been relatively busy since Wimbledon. I've had to change my schedule a bit this year to incorporate the Olympics. It's such a unique event so I'm really looking forward to Athens.

"Unfortunately, I won't be able to defend my title in Washington but I'm hopeful of continuing my success at Masters Series level by doing well in both Toronto and Cincinnati."

Henman found himself quizzed about his Wimbledon challenge by the Queen when he received his OBE recently.

He said: "It was a real honour and privilege for me to receive such an award, and it was a day I'll remember for the rest of my life."
