Tomkins scores four in Salford loss
Sam Tomkins scored four tries as Wigan hammered Salford 52-18 to record a 10th straight victory in all competitions.
But some of the shine was taken off the Engage Super League win with news prop Ben Cross has picked up a suspected broken arm that will rule him out for the season.
The Warriors led 28-6 at the break, and then pushed home their advantage in the second half. Ryan Atkins did not do his old club any favours with a hat-trick of touchdowns after grabbing four in his last match against Bradford. Chris Bridge was also outstanding for Warrington, kicking 10 goals from 10 attempts - including several off the touchline.
Louis Anderson and Matt King each crossed twice for the Wolves who were still missing skipper Adrian Morley, Lee Briers and suspended Mickey Higham. The Wildcats scored tries through Kyle Amor and Jeremy Smith, who claimed a late consolation with Josh Veivers converting both.
