Trezeguet sees red mist

14 April 2012

David Trezeguet was sent off on a bad night for France as they were held to a 1-1 draw in Israel.

Trezeguet, who scored with a header in the 50th minute, was dismissed by referee Markus Merk moments later for headbutting Tal Ben Haim.

French misery was compounded in the 83rd minute when former Wimbledon player Walid Badier scored with a header.

Both teams have 10 points in Group Four but France will be without Trezeguet for games against Ireland and Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored for Holland in the 2-0 win over Armenia that keeps them top of Group One.
