Trimble recovery on track

12 April 2012

Ireland winger Andrew Trimble is expected to be available for the crunch Pool D showdown with France on September 21.

Trimble sustained a fractured finger during Sunday's 32-17 victory over Namibia and was ruled out of the weekend's clash with Georgia but the powerful Ulster winger is recovering on schedule and will be in the frame to face Les Bleus at the Stade de France.

Ireland assistant coach Niall O'Donavan said: "Andrew should be fine for France. Unless we pick up any fresh injuries against Georgia on Saturday, we should have a fully fit squad for France."
