Trott sets sights on T20 recall

Jonathan Trott has targeted a return to England's Twenty20 side and hopes to prove his credentials with Warwickshire.

The 29-year-old batsman was absent from the squad that won the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies after failing to impress in the two-match series against Pakistan in Dubai in February.

"Yeah of course it's disappointing not to be in the (England) side," Trott told BBC WM. "It's my job to do better and score more runs and heavily for Warwickshire."

Trott's England team-mate Kevin Pietersen, meanwhile, has hinted that a move from Hampshire could materialise when his current deal is up in the summer.

The South Africa-born star is a big crowd pleaser but his England responsibilities across all three formats mean he is rarely seen on county duty.

Yet after a rare Twenty20 outing for the side against Surrey, during which he made just 15, he told BBC Radio Solent: "Geographically, it just doesn't work. I live in Chelsea."

And when pressed about his return to The Rose Bowl, his nominal home ground, for England's Natwest Series match against Australia on June 22, he added: "It's just another one-day international at another cricket ground."
