US make poor start to the World Cup

13 April 2012

Tiger Woods refused to blame tiredness for his poor start to the World Cup in Buenos Aires.

America's Woods and David Duval are four strokes behind joint leaders New Zealand and Argentina who are on 15 under par.

Woods, in his eighth straight week on the road, only hit two birdies in yesterday's fourballs.

But when asked if fatigue was the reason, the world No 1 replied: "No - don't confuse being tired with being a little disappointed and angry."

Scotland and Ireland are joint 13th on eight under, England were two shots further back in 18th and Wales, at four under, were 23rd. Today they play foursomes.
