Venables dodges question over Boro future

13 April 2012

Terry Venables has ducked the question of whether he will still be at Middlesbrough next season.

Venables has steered Boro to within sight of Premiership safety - but that may not be enough to keep him at the Riverside.

The former England coach says the lure of a contract with ITV could yet make him quit management.

He said: "Sometimes football management is a drug that you feel you can't live without.

"But if you are asking me if I'll still be at Middlesbrough next season I can't discuss that. I'd rather hedge round it, thanks."

Venables is still under pressure from his television bosses to stick with his lucrative job as expert analyst next term and admits: "Watching football on television for a living is still a very attractive proposition."
