Vialli fancies Tottenham job

13 April 2012

Gianluca Vialli has put his name forward for the vacant Tottenham manager's job.

The Italian, who guided Chelsea to the European Cup Winners' Cup as well as the FA and League Cup triumphs, has been out of management since he was sacked by Watford after a disastrous spell with the First Division club.

But he is keen to return to the Premiership and has targeted Tottenham as the ideal club for him after Glenn Hoddle's recent sacking.

Vialli told the Daily Mirror: "I'm waiting for the right offer to get back into management.

"Of course the Tottenham job interests me. I'd sit down and talk to the directors or chairman and depending what you both want to achieve, you decide whether to take it further. But yes, Tottenham excites me."
