Vicente hoping for England clash

Valencia midfielder Vicente hopes Spain get England in the quarter-finals if they negotiate Group A.

The 22-year-old, who helped his club win the Spanish title and UEFA Cup this season, said: "I'd prefer to play England because I think they aren't quite as strong as France."

Vicente believes Spain's Real Madrid contingent - Raul, Ivan Helguera, Raul Bravo and keeper Iker Casillas - will also be determined to do well after their poor season.

He said: "Once they joined up with the rest of the squad they have shown that they can put all that behind them."
