Walker returns to the track

Dougie Walker is set to return to the track next week following his two-year ban after failing a drugs test.

Walker, hoping to be back in competition for the Scottish Championships in Glasgow on 21 January, today reflected on two years out of competition following his positive test for nandrolone.

Although he initially won an appeal against the ban, that reprieve was then overturned by the International Amateur Athletics Association.

He said: "It's not been too bad watching. If I come back and run badly then I think the last two years will weigh a lot heavier on my mind."
