Warburton injury blow for Blues

Sam Warburton

Wales flanker Sam Warburton could be sidelined for up to six weeks because of a knee injury.

The Cardiff Blues forward limped off early in the first half of Wales' RBS 6 Nations defeat against France in Paris last Saturday, and the Blues say 22-year-old Warburton faces a lay-off of between four and six weeks.

That means he could return in time for the Blues' final Magners League regular-season fixture against the Scarlets on May 6, and should be available if his team secures a title play-off spot.

Warburton, who has won 14 caps, was arguably Wales' outstanding performer of the Six Nations and is a key figure in coach Warren Gatland's World Cup plans later this year.
