Watford injury worries pile up

Watford have major injury problems as they try to extend their unbeaten record to five matches when they meet Coventry at Vicarage Road tonight.

Midfielder Paul Devlin has a knee injury while Micah Hyde, another midfielder, has suffered a recurrence of hamstring trouble.

Manager Ray Lewington said: "It's very frustrating. With Gavin Mahon still not fully recovered from his knee injury and Marcus Gayle out with a virus, it means we are likely to have six regulars out."

Tonight's match takes on an extra significance since it was postponed from the opening day of the season following the death in a car crash of Jimmy Davis, who was on loan at Watford from Manchester United.
